As I’ve always said: if you want to be known as the Golden Generation, you have to win trophies. Bastian Schweinsteiger and I have played together for 16 years, starting in the youth section. It’s wonderful to celebrate this trophy together.
In the EM we have become really good friends. That was because we both did not play and have spent so much time together. We have noticed that we have the same humor that we think similarly about many things and we found it very easy to get along very well with each other. Even if we are not together with the national team, we communicate now and again.
